Kyle Nelson fell in love with home repair and renovation starting as a member of a team, during his college years, building homes in Mount Vernon, IA. Over the years he and his wife Katie renovated four family homes in the Cedar Valley and Corvallis, Oregon as they served in full time Christian Ministry on college campuses.

Their love for home renovation became a full-time role when Kyle founded Nelson Home Repair with a vision to provide home maintenance and general contracting for families in the Cedar Valley. As relationships grew, and the requests for kitchens and bathrooms kept coming in, Nelson Home Repair became Nelson Home Renovation, with a new focus on KItchen and Bath Renovation.

Every Nelson Home Renovation gets owner involvement from the first walkthrough to the final inspection. That’s the difference between a contractor and a trusted neighbor.

Deanna has served multiple businesses in the Cedar Valley including Scratch Cupcakery and the Blackhawk Hotel. In 2024 Kyle got the chance to invite his sister to join the Nelson Home Renovation team. Deanna helps keep the team stay organized by responding to new job request, scheduling, coordinating work crews and keeping our customers up to date on the status of their renovation project from scheduling to final walkthrough.

In addition to being an administrative blessing to our team and customers, Deanna is a great painter, and loves the chance to get her hands dirty on a job site from time to time.
